Ho Chi Minh City to Hold Special Events During National Days of Celebration

Hot air balloons will be launched on September 2 and 3 on Nguyen Thien Thanh street in Thu Thiem New Urban Area in Thu Duc city. Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in District 1 will host lion and dragon performances, drum festivals, as well as martial art performances of Vovinam, Wushu, Traditional Martial Arts, and Taekwondo. To celebrate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, fireworks will light up the sky of HCM City on September 2. Fireworks will be displayed at high altitudes at Saigon River tunnel and low altitudes at Dam Sen Cultural Park from 9 pm to 9:15 pm. Promoting Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Through Cultural Exchange

The event was organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO)’s representative office in the southern region, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s chapter in HCM City, the Vietnam-ASEAN Friendship Association in HCM City, and Thailand’s Consulate General in the city. The program was held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership (2003-2023), according to Tran Hoang Khanh Van, deputy head of VUFO’s southern region office. He emphasized the strong relations between the two countries in various sectors, including politics, defense-security, economy, trade, culture, and education, and highlighted the importance of people-to-people exchange in fostering their friendship. Residents in Ho Chi Minh City Join Plastic Exchange Event to Safeguard Environment

The plastic exchange program was held at Dong Ba Elementary School on Phan Dang Luu Street in Ward 7 as part of the second ‘Joining Hands to Build a Better Community Day 2023.’ Despite its small scale, the exchange event brought happiness to residents and had a positive impact on the environment. The ‘Swapping Recycling Trash for Gifts and Plants’ program takes place at Dong Ba Elementary School in Ward 7, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City. During the exchange event, the organizer distributed 108 gift sets, 160 scholarships, and a laptop worth VND100 million (US$4,162) to students and disadvantaged households in the ward.
