Hanoi, Hai Phong to co-host fifth International Experimental Theatre Festival

At a press conference held on November 8 in Hanoi, People’s Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, president of the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association, said the festival would bring together a variety of art genres, such as drama, cai luong (reformed theater), puppetry, and circus.

The event will therefore provide an opportunity for artists to hold exchanges and learn from each other, while simultaneously showing the strength of global art in the post-COVID period, she noted.

The festival will witness the participation of artists from the Hanoi Drama Theatre, the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre, and the Vietnam Circus Federation.

Foreign art troupes, including Tom Corandini Teatro of Italy, Yvua Arts of the Republic of Korea, Patch Theater of Poland, Singapore Raffles Music College of Singapore, Mass Foundation of Pakistan, and Dhyaas Performing Arts of India, will all perform at the festival, with each group staging a play.

The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Youth Theatre of Vietnam in Hanoi at 7:30 p.m. on November 15.

Co-organised by the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Performing Arts Department, the first, second, third, and fourth editions of the festival were held in Vietnam in 2002, 2006, 2016, and 2019, respectively.

Unique plants on display at Hanoi Ornamental Creatures Festival 2022

The event features a wider range of unique ornamental trees and bonsai worth several hundreds to billions of VND. This piece named “Hoang Long Vu De” is valued at VND3 billion, equivalent to US$126,370. Another piece, named “Vu Hoi Long Hoa”, is offered at a price in the tens of billions of VND. The age-old tree often has a massive, mossy trunk. A gardener brings his ornamental tree to the festival, offering it at VND3.5 billion, equal to US$147,431. The Hanoi Ornamental Creatures Festival is considered to be an important trade promotion activity which contributes to fostering the overall development of the capital’s horticulture. Vietnam-Japan Diplomacy Marked with Magnificent LED Light Show Celebrating 50 Years

The light display at Bien Dong Park in Da Nang, Vietnam, features three scenes inspired by the iconic flowers of both Vietnam and Japan – lotus and sakura (cherry blossom), respectively.
