Flying saucer-shaped clouds float above another mountain in southern Vietnam
Chua Chan Mountain in Dong Nai Province was the second mountain in Vietnam’s southern region spotted with spaceship-like clouds after Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh Province this week.
The formation, which is identified as lenticular clouds, floated over Chua Chan Mountain on Friday morning.
The clouds appeared at around 6:00 am, were most obvious at 7:00 am, and lasted until 8:00 am, according to Nguyen Duc Tan, a local living at the foot of the mountain.

Chua Chan Mountain is located about 110 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City and is 837 meters high above sea level.
It is the highest mountain in Dong Nai and the second highest in the southern region, after Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh Province, over which lenticular clouds also appeared on Thursday and Friday morning.

Lenticular clouds are dense stationary clouds caused by sudden air movements and often found near hills or mountains, according to Le Dinh Quyet, deputy head of the forecasting department at the Southern Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
As moist and stable air flows over a larger eddy, like those caused by mountains, and temperatures drop below the dew point, lenticular clouds can form.
