Tam Dao honoured as world’s leading town destination 2022

The town beat seven other rivals to come first in the category including Český Krumlov Region of the Czech Repubplic, Hāna, Maui, Hawaii of the United States, Jajce of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sauraha of Nepal, Shirakawa Village of Japan, Talkeetna of the US, and Wanaka of New Zealand.

Tam Dao town in Vinh Phuc province is located on the Tam Dao mountain range over 1,000m above sea level. It’s one of the most attractive destinations in northern Vietnam.

In Tam Dao, there are three mountains, Thach Ban (1,388m), Thien Thi (1,375m), and Phu Nghia (1,400m), rising above the sea of clouds like three islands. That is the source of the Vietnamese name “Tam Dao,” meaning “three islands.”

This marks the first time Tam Dao has been awarded the world’s leading town destination.

The annual awards are based on votes cast by travel industry professionals and the public.

The World Travel Awards, launched in 1993, acknowledge excellence in the tourism industry, and have been described as the “travel industry’s equivalent of the Oscars.”

New Hanoi-Inspired Mooncakes Arrive on the Scene

The Mid-Autumn Festival (15th day of the eighth lunar month or September 29 this year) is drawing near, and businesses are introducing unique collections of mooncakes that are not only delicious but also carry a cultural story. In Hanoi, the mooncake market is vibrant with many collections inspired by the capital’s culture. One of these collections is called Moonlight, inspired by the traditional lacquer painting “Autumn Moon Shadow” by artist Hoang Huu Van.
