Sungha Jung is a talented musician who started playing the guitar at a young age. He was inspired by his father and began learning the basics from him. With a strong passion for music, Jung worked hard to improve his skills by playing anything he heard and watching online tutorials. His dedication paid off, as he quickly gained recognition for his incredible guitar playing abilities. Today, Sungha Jung has an impressive 7.1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, where he continues to captivate audiences with his talent.

Jung’s cover of The Pirates of the Caribbean theme song, which has garnered over 64 million views on YouTube, catapulted him to Internet stardom at the age of 12.

A prolific composer, Sungha Jung released his ninth solo album, Poetry, in August 2022. His renditions of songs such as Felicity, River Flows In You, Irony, On A Brisk Day, Flaming, The Phantom of the Opera and Haru Haru have won over audiences and fascinated guitar enthusiasts alike.

Sungha Jung is widely recognized in Vietnam for his talent in fingerstyle guitar. His popularity is mainly attributed to his presence on YouTube, where he shares his remarkable music with the world. Additionally, he holds the distinction of being the first foreign fingerstyle guitarist to perform live in Vietnam.

“Fingerstyle guitar is an absolute game-changer in terms of technique, allowing for a vast range of musical styles and genres to be conveyed by just one guitar. As a result, fingerstyle guitar represents the pinnacle of creativity. Players have the freedom to invent entirely new techniques and hand positions in order to express their unique nuances,” asserts Tung.
