Truong Ngoc Anh to Serve as Judge at Malaysia International Film Festival 2020
Renowned filmmaker Johnnie To from Hong Kong (China) has been appointed as the president of the panel at the festival. The panel comprises of esteemed industry professionals such as Japanese director Ryuichi Hiroki, Singaporean film producer Eric Khoo, Malaysian actor Zizan Razak, and Vietnamese film producer Truong Ngoc Anh.
This year, the festival featured a competition among 10 films from various countries including India, Spain, Ukraine, Indonesia, Japan, Hong Kong (China), Turkey, Japan, and the host country Malaysia.
The MIFFest serves as a platform to showcase both Malaysian and international films. Alongside this event, the Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA) takes place to recognize and honor outstanding filmmakers for their exceptional contributions throughout the year. The MIFFest and MGGA aim to foster a dynamic filmmaking industry by encouraging passionate and innovative filmmakers from all around the world.
Truong Ngoc Anh, aged 47, is a multi-talented artist from Hanoi, excelling in acting, fashion modeling, film production, and entrepreneurship. She was awarded the Mai Vang (Golden Apricot) award, the Vietnamese equivalent of an Oscar, for Best Actress for her remarkable performance in “Áo Lụa Hà Đông” (The White Silk Dress) in 2006.
Ngoc Anh has been recognized for her exceptional talents and beauty on a global scale. She was awarded the title of Most Photogenic at the International Model Search of Asia in 1995 and emerged as the winner of the Miss International Model pageant held in Cairo, Egypt, in 1998.
She has been invited to serve as a judge for numerous prestigious global events, including the Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) in the United States, the 58th Asia-Pacific Film Festival, and the Panam Anim animated film festival in France.
