Captivating Visual Displays Illuminate Hanoi’s Historic Old Quarter

Locals and tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy the light shows that will take place at 22 Hang Buom Cultural and Arts Center and Quan Chuong Gate from November 24 to 26. The event is held within the framework of the launching ceremony of Hanoi Night Tours 2023.

According to the Department of Tourism of Hanoi, the city will introduce 15-night tours with new and diverse contents and forms to promote local tourism and offer a variety of night tourism experiences.

The opening ceremony of the event will be held at 8pm on November 24. For the first time ever, visitors can witness a stunning light show at the 22 Hang Buom Cultural and Arts Center. This will be a unique opportunity to explore the beauty of Hanoi’s night through the lens of art in the heart of the city’s cultural heritage.

The grand light performance will showcase thirteen tangible and intangible heritages of Hanoi, including the Long Bien Bridge, Quan Chuong Gate, One Pillar Pagoda, Pen Tower, Hang Trong paintings, Chuong Village conical hats, and Thang Long Imperial Citadel, among others.

Moreover, the event will also mark the announcement of Hoan Kiem Lake and the surrounding areas, as well as Hanoi Old Quarter, being recognized as a City’s Level Travel Destination. Additionally, a tourism photo contest themed “Welcome to Hanoi” will be launched during the event.

Visitors attending the lighting show entitled “Hanoi Night – Touching Point of Emotions” on November 24, 25, and 26 at 8pm will be treated to modern-light and folk-art performances under the theme of “Dialogue between light and architectural space at 22 Hang Buom”.

During the same evenings, there will be a visual art performance of 3D mapping at Quan Chuong Gate in the Old Quarter area, showcasing impressive images highlighting Hanoi’s heritage. This performance promises to provide visitors with a unique and awe-inspiring experience by combining modern technology with the ancient charm of Quan Chuong Gate at night.

In addition, various cultural events will be held at the 22 Hang Buom Cultural Center, including Hang Trong painting art workshops, bamboo and rattan crafts, Truc chi painting-making classes, folk performances of traditional Vietnamese art forms such as tuong, cheo, cai luong, and Vietnamese ethnic musical instrument ensembles.

The tourism industry of the capital is determined to make night tourism a key product to develop the local nighttime economy, attract more locals and international visitors, and encourage them to stay longer and spend more while in Hanoi.
