This is the Lao Prime Minister’s first visit to Vietnam after he was elected head of the Government of Laos on December 30, 2022.
The visit takes place at a time when relations between the two countries are developing well, with a high level of trust developed in political ties. In the photo, the two PMs and their spouses walk to the Government Office for talks
During previous reciprocal visits, Vietnamese leaders affirm the consistent policy of giving the highest priority to consolidating and cultivating the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.
Meanwhile, Lao leaders thank the Party, State and people of Vietnam for standing side by side with the Party, State and people of Lao ethnic groups in all circumstances, vowing to cement their close-knit ties.
Vietnam currently has 241 investment projects in Laos with a total registered capital of US$5.47 billion, retaining its third position among foreign investors in the country. IN the photo, the two PM shake hands ahead of their high level talks.
During his stay, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone will co-chair the 46th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee.
They will also attend the Vietnam-Laos Investment Cooperation Forum.
Many artists partake in a music gala which takes place immediately after the opening ceremony. A local girl dons a traditional Laotian costume to join in a street carnival at the event.
